Hello!

Currently I'm testing the new "Media Control Panel" which our webmaster (Swen) hast bought few hours ago. I've Superadmin privilegs and created 2 servers for testing following situation which I need for the final radio server later.

I want to transcode our DSL main server which will run through port 8010 later (I used Port 8000 for testing for now). The source stream should rum with 128K/Bit and transcoded in 56K/Bit AAC+ on Port 8002 on the same server. This channel should be connected 24/7 hours a day with the main DSL server for another ISDN stream. As there are currently no files on our FTP and Auto DJ shows some strange error messages, I wanted to test it with my Shoutcast DSP from Winamp directly connected to the server.

Test Server 1 has currently "Port 8000" with following settings:

Server 2 (8002) is configured as following:

That's it. But somehow it don't work. The 8002 Server don't connect to 8000 as it should and simply stays offline. Normally it should connect to Port 8000 while the transcoder should re-encode the stream to Port 8002 in AAC+ in 56K/Stereo. I even try it by using Server 8002 as relay server to Server 8000 with following settings:

...but it doesn't work as well. What I'm doing wrong? Did I have forgotten something? How can I use the 8002 Server as AAC+ relay server with my requested settings? Is there any problem with the "Server MountPoint", whatever it means? Please help! Huh

Try setting the mountpoint to "/stream" for a shoutcast server, also make sure you start the transcoder from the AutoDJ page.

I heard that we must install "Streamtranscoder V3" manually which is very complicated together with all plugins. Is that true or will "Cast Control" do this with the new installer? If we cannot use this, can I also use my solution by sc_trans2? If yes, how must I configure it? Must it be also startet from the Auto-DJ page and do it work as transcoder?

Please help!

After reinstall "Streamtranscoder V3" settings are missing and I can't find any options to start "sc_trans2" in Auto DJ for connecting to another port. Huh

Yes you must manually compile Stream Transcoder unfortunately, our control panel only provides an integration with these software.
Our technicians can perform this as part of the full installation service.

Try switching to "No Source", than back to "sctransv2" - both sc_trans v1 & v2 modules provide the option to stream to another address:port

Transcoder has been reinstalled is listed again. But starting the Auto DJ in 8002 will result NOTHING. Port 8002 stays offline. There is no other option to start the transcoder. I'm asking myself what enhancements has been made exactly in the last few months with the media panel if nothing works? I see abolutely NOTHING!!! Transcoder don't work as it should and that's what he just should do, if it is installed correcty. So please explain me step by step how I can use it as I want? Huh

Hi Paralax.

I dont think that the solution is "it deosnt work" i think the term is more known as "its not configured properly".

The control panel was tested before release as everything is and it was working its just needing configured properly. Cast-Control do offer a full installation service at a fee but at least you can guarantee things working Cheesy

Would be fine but the fact is that it abviously habe more and more bugs with newer versions, than the previous. After our server move, we got a FLOOD of new error messages because GeoIO. "Extreme" already admitted, that this ARE IN FACT really bugs!!! And we will loose our old server on friday. Okay, he already help us to fix some bugs but it's very very annoying that exactly bugs which we already have reported wasn't fixed in newer versions, for example the "name lookups" in shoutcast are permanentely on. There is no chance when we set it to "0". This error issue is STILL in version 2.0.3.0. which we download for a new installation on our new server. The admin panel still shows DNS adresses instead IP's. This isn't even fixes in version 2.0.3.0. And now there is a new script error in the Auto-DJ wich prevents that we can use the subfolders in "music". So we cannot user "ondemand" or other manualle created folders or playlists.

I already wrote 3 tickets because it's really IMPORTANT but no reaction. Tomorrow is the last day, before we loose the old server and Media Panel which it was installed. So what shell I do now instead posting every and every time again???
